maybe you should stick to that idea and start to agglomerate spatially in order to find a strategy that creates an envelope or enclosure as well as the interior spaces. here structures in nature might inspire your work (blackberries, pine cones, etc.) but also think about what needs to be changed either in the geometry of the cell or in its agglomeration to avoid getting just 'almost' spherical bodies overall very good work, don't worry of moving one step back - it happens all the time
